The Plan

Our Route

This is it.... the big plan. Are we insane? Quite possibly, but we think it will be fun anyway. We will be leaving Southern California sometime around June 10 for our cross country excursion. The boys will go to camp in Missouri, we'll visit relatives, and then meet up with hubby in North Carolina. We have 2 weeks planned on the east coast, including the 4th of July in Washington DC, before we start our trek back across the country toward home. We'll have our own Mr15 & Mr17, and if his Dad says yes, we'll have their friend, Mr16 as well. If I could make money through the generation of smelly socks, we'd be rich!

So, we need suggestions! What do we have to see along our route? What can we skip? We plan on having a week in DC, 2 days in Philadelphia, 3 in New York and Boston, and 1 or 2 in Chicago. What to do? What to miss? How to keep my sanity as I'll be driving the long hauls?????

Hey Kristin, have a wonderful time. But It doesn't seem like you will have time to see everything. LOL That is a long way to go and there is so much wonderful stuff to see. Have a great time. Wish I could go too.

It would help to have the boys input ! What are their interests? That should help you decide where to go as they will remember those places best. (And of course, at those ages, THE FOOD) I've four little boys of my own...

Holiday Inn, closest to Navy Pier in Chicago. You will love Navy Pier. You can walk to it. The museums are nearby too.

Of course the boys have input! But since we have never been anywhere back there it helps to get ideas from people who know more so we can make better choices. We have always found our best trips come when we go off the beaten path and try things only the locals really know.

Ah, that sounds good! We are in Chicago on our anniversary, and want to stay someplace downtown and nice, so we can leave the boys at the hotel and go out on the town. TY TY!
